Therm X Span

This system takes expanded water as the system temperature rises and is designed for use in closed, potable hot water systems. When there is a demand for hot water, it is returned to the system. In a closed system, a thermal expansion tank, such as Therm-X-Span, is required to safeguard your water heater.

About Amtrol

Amtrol Inc. is an American manufacturer of water system solutions and industrial equipment, serving residential and commercial customers worldwide. The company designs and produces a comprehensive range of products including well tanks, hydronic and thermal expansion tanks, boiler fill valves, air separators, shock suppressors, refrigerant and chemical cylinders, and a broad selection of plumbing and heating accessories.

Founded in 1946 in Rhode Island, Amtrol was built on a foundation of innovation, quality, and service, principles that have guided the company for nearly eight decades. From its earliest years, Amtrol established itself as a pioneer in the hydronic and water systems industry, consistently introducing products that set new industry standards.

The company's legacy of innovation is extensive. In 1954, Amtrol transformed the hydronic heating industry with the introduction of the EXTROL, the world's first pre-pressurized diaphragm expansion tank. This was followed by the invention of the first pre-pressurized well tank in 1963, and the refrigerant gas cylinder in 1967. Amtrol continued to break new ground with the invention of the indirect-fired water heater in 1980 and the thermal expansion tank in 1991, products that remain industry staples to this day.

Today, Amtrol's product lineup covers the full spectrum of water system needs, including storage, treatment, heating, expansion, and flow control for both residential and industrial applications. All products are proudly manufactured in the USA at the company's ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities in Rhode Island and Maryland, reflecting a long-standing commitment to quality and American craftsmanship.
